Vulnerable Adults and Community Care Practice Graduate Diploma (Part-time)

Course overview

The Centre for Post Qualifying Social Work offers a portfolio of courses designed to raise standards in social work practice and help social workers demonstrate their competence to work within complex situations.

The BA (Hons)/ Graduate Diploma in Vulnerable Adults / Community Care Practice is Stage 2 of the revised Post Qualifying Social Work framework and is the specialist award for Social Work with Adults.

The award is designed for qualified adult care workers from statutory, voluntary and private agencies, working in all settings. You will already have gained 40 level H credits in the Consolidation and Preparation for Specialist Practice unit (formally PQ Part 1) in Social Work with Adults.

This course will enable you to:

  • Build on your social work knowledge and experience to develop your competence as an adult care practitioner.
  • Gain further knowledge and skills needed to undertake the role of adult car practitioner.
  • Develop your skills of reflective understanding and critical analysis.
  • Use your knowledge, skills and experience to assist the development of others.
  • On completion of this course you will be able to act as Best Interest Assessors under the Deprivation of Liberty safeguards.

This course is currently delivered in London, Worcestershire, Buckinghamshire and Devon.
