This course runs in parallel with the BA (Hons) Interactive Media Production and BA (Hons) Scriptwriting for Film and Television courses enabling the TV students to engage with the rapidly changing face of today’s digital television industry as it becomes increasingly integrated with the internet. Collaboration with their fellow students forms part of the course as well as being very much encouraged outside it.

The Television Production course is a Skillset Media Academy Course and forms part of Bournemouth University’s Skillset Media Academy. This is a partnership between Bournemouth University's Media School and the Arts University College Bournemouth (AUCB), the Academy is the largest centre of professional higher education for the film and media industries in the UK, and offers some of the world's finest education and training in the disciplines of practical creative media.

Every year since 2003 BA (Hons) Television Production students have won awards at the Royal Television Society (RTS) Regional Awards. This year saw Jon Scorer win 'Best Undergraduate Factual' short film.
