The Student experience

Our student life video gives you an insight into life as a student at BU. Our current students share their experiences and introduce you to some of the exciting facilities on offer.

Academy of Performance Coaching Qualifications

To work with clients in the Health and Fitness industry you need professional qualifications and insurance. The BU Academy of Performance Coaching provides training in nationally recognised professional courses which are aligned with the Register of Exercise Professionals and Qualifications and Credit Framework.

These courses will support your academic degree by providing you with the opportunity to become a qualified Fitness Instructor, Personal Trainer or Sports Massage Therapist, opening up further employment opportunities during and beyond your studies at Bournemouth University.

Courses are run through blended learning to fit around your studies through a mixture of online lectures, home study and practical days at Bournemouth University. The Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer courses are run once each term (course duration 8 weeks) and the Sports Massage Therapy course runs over 4 weeks during June, following academic exams. Students of BU get dramatically reduced rates on these courses, paying only 33% of the cost of the course!
