This course is delivered at Bournemouth and Poole College.

The emphasis of this course is on the technical aspects of music, sound, and audio generation, as well as onthe recording and integration of components of media systems. In order to provide students with a range of possible opportunities, the course material covers areas such as audio and video principles, software programming, audio and video authoring, and studio techniques, all of which will provide graduates with the best possible start to their careers.

Advances in technology will provide an opportunity to students to develop knowledge of both hardware and software systems that can be applied in areas such as media, music, sound and video processing.

It is expected that the applicants for this course will have an interest in music and the media components, but it is not necessary forthem to be either musicians or artists. The course is designed to focus students' learning on both practical and theoretical aspects of musicand sound, with work experience being developed by contact with local industry.
