Who should do this course?

  • We are looking for applicants that have a sound grasp of the English language, creative writing ability and a good presentational style
  • Student’s must be aware of world affairs and be able to express their own opinions and thoughts
  • We also like applicants to have undertaken some work experience within a media environment

BA (Hons) Multi-media Journalism students have been named the Best Performing Course of its kind in the country by the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ). Our course was the first journalism course in the UK to be accredited by the three main professional bodies.

The student newspaper 'The Rock' is also run by BA (Hons) Multi-Media Journalism students and has an online version too.

Accreditations:
This first course in the country to be accredited by the three main industry bodies, the Broadcast Training Council (BTC), The National Centre for Training of Journalists (NCTJ) and the Periodicals Training Council (PTC).

3 years with two short placements (or 4 years with a 40 week placement).

Entry requirements:
For 2012 entry: 340 tariff points from 3 A-levels or equivalent.
For 2013 entry: 340 tariff points, from 3 A-levels or equivalent qualifications. This typically includes two A's at A-level (or equivalent). BTEC Extended Diploma: DDD

A minimum requirement of 5 GCSE's A* - C including Maths and English or equivalent qualifications
