Year 1 - Level H

Dissertation

The dissertation is seen as a major piece of independent work that involves the collection, interpretation, analysis and presentation of primary and secondary data.

The unit will develop your analytical and investigative skills. As such, the dissertation will foster the development of a critical attitude to research methodology and experimental data, and their use in formulating reasoned judgement based upon previous learning.

The production of the dissertation over a period of two academic terms will enable you to develop and focus your interest on a specific aspect of your course. The topic of investigation is normally linked to the specific subject route being followed (eg. retail, sports, hospitality, tourism, leisure, retail). Support is provided by extra-curricular and dissertation lectures and weekly tutorials with your allocated dissertation tutor.

Strategy & Leadership

In this unit, you will develop an understanding for the role and function of leadership and the different approaches and theories.
