International Business Studies BA (Hons)

Course overview

You can still apply to BU (including through UCAS Extra). Please apply through UCAS as soon as possible; your application can only be assessed once we have received it from UCAS.

BA (Hons) Business Studies is our longest running course. The Business Studies degree is an exciting and innovative course which allows you to specialise in a specific business area, inlcuding international studies.

The first year of the course introduces you to the core functions and disciplines of Business and Management, after which you follow a 'pathway' of your choice. The structure of the course is very flexible, even allowing you to change specialism at the end of the second year if you wish.

The specialist pathway BA (Hons) International Business Studies aims to provide you with the knowledge, understanding and skills, which will enable you to conduct yourself professionally and credibly in an international working environment.

You will develop cultural sensitivity, as well as a critical understanding of the challenges of working and managing internationally. The pathway focuses on your development of a critical appreciation of different concepts of international business etiquette and protocol, culturally distinct management styles, ethical dilemmas in international management and the impact of convergence.
