Industrial Design BA (Hons)

Overview

The programme has the option for a sandwich mode of study, through undertaking an industrial work placement during the third year. Full time mode of study is also available.

The placement provides an excellent opportunity for students to gain first-hand industry experience. Whilst the placement is optional, students are encouraged to make use of this exciting opportunity. Experience gained on the placement is invaluable in helping students to make informed decisions about their future career path, as well as enhancing employment prospects upon graduation.

A dedicated Placements Office helps students to obtain placements. Students receive support throughout the placement experience. Interview techniques and advice are also provided for students to help them successfully gain a placement.

Placements have taken place in a range of large companies, both in the UK and abroad. Companies that have taken our placement students include:

Entry requirements:
For 2012 entry: 300 tariff points. Typically from 3 A-Levels or equivalent.
For 2013 entry: 300 tariff points, from 3 A-level, to include 100 from one relevant A-level (e.g.B) or equivalent qualifications. BTEC Extended Diploma: DDM.
