This two-year Foundation degree in Finance and Law, delivered at Bournemouth & Poole College, is ideal if you are looking for a way into a career in business, finance or the legal profession.

Completion of this course will give you the opportunity to continue in Higher Education to Honours degree level and beyond.

As well as offering a route into Higher Education and a degree, this Foundation degree provides a sound understanding of the broader elements of both finance and law, giving you an attractive academic background for prospective employers. In addition, the course helps you to develop the technical skills and competencies essential to any career in finance, law or business.

The course is ideal if your interested in becoming an accountant, finance specialist, or entering the legal profession. It will equip you with the necessary skills and expertise to progress to an Honours degree, after which, upon graduation, you can choose to specialise in your chosen field following further professional study.

Alternatively, you may choose to enter the world of work directly after successful completion of the course. As both finance and law play an important role in every type of business, the skills acquired can open up career opportunities in a wide range of general business environments.

You will be registered at Bournemouth University, and the course is delivered at Bournemouth and Poole College. It is assessed by a range of assessment methods, including submission of work-based assignments demonstrating how learning has been applied in the work place. This course has been carefully designed to be relevant to today's employers.

Once you have successfully completed the course, you may choose to enter the world of work, or, if you meet the achievement criteria, the opportunity to 'top-up' the course to a full honours degree with the one year, full-time BA (Hons) Finance and Law top-up course.
