Events Management is becoming increasingly important within both the business and voluntary sectors. This course develops the broad range of abilities vital for success in this maturing management specialism.

Events range in scope, scale and complexity from mega- events to a corporate meeting and cover activities from sport and culture to product launches and fundraising. The successful events manager must have abilities in a wide range of subject areas. This course crosses the boundaries between marketing, customer service, finance, planning and other business skills to develop multi- disciplined, creative team leaders and members able to organise the largest event down to the smallest detail.

Practical application of knowledge is paramount in the area of business, and the third year of your course will be spent doing just that on an industrial placement, either in the UK or overseas.

The Public Relations Society of America has described events management as "one of the fastest-growing and most important trends in this modern profession". With the increasing importance of this specialism in a wide range of public sector, commercial and not for profit organisations, career advancement opportunities are excellent.

Events Management is a modern, fast moving profession which demands a lot of hard work and dynamism and offers tremendous variety and career satisfaction.

What our students think

"I felt that the degree was structured very well; the first year gave you a good business grounding, the second year provided more event focused learning and the final year allowed you to study the area’s in which you are interested." Hollie Smith

"Organising our live event has been a real highlight for me. You were in a real team of people, with a real client, real suppliers and a real venue…and individually we all gained brilliant knowledge and experience. Also, the tutors are great and always there to help." Sarah Coulthard
