Engineering BEng (Hons)/MEng (Part-time)

Course overview

Engineering graduates from BU are the UK’s second highest earners according to a league table in The Sunday Times.

This part-time route offers a path for practicing engineers qualified to HNC/HND/FdSc level, working in the Southern region of the UK to gain the academic qualifications necessary to become Incorporated or Chartered Engineers (CEng) whilst remaining in work.

The course will be jointly delivered by BU and Bournemouth and Poole College, resulting in a BU award. Students currently studying foundation degrees (FdSc) in Engineering can progress onto this course to gain an MEng degree and CEng status.

The course offers entry to second, or final year of the Bachelor degree, or direct entry to MEng, depending upon prior qualifications. You will study a number of core (compulsory) and option units. The option units are designed so that you may design your own course to meet the needs of your employer and Engineering Council UKSPEC, however, the award maintains the generic engineering title.

The course will be delivered predominately by distance (off-campus) learning with attendance required for block periods, typically on a Friday afternoon.

This is an exciting new course which is currently being developed through our course approval process. This page will be updated to give you full and comprehensive information about what we will be offering once the approval process has concluded.
