Course overview

You can still apply to BU (including through UCAS Extra). Please apply through UCAS as soon as possible; your application can only be assessed once we have received it from UCAS.

This course is delivered by the BRIT School for Performing Arts & Technology in Croydon

This exciting new course is designed for those who want to develop their skills as digital media practitioners.

The BRIT School has an unparalleled reputation for its high quality education and vocational training in the fields of performing arts, media, art & design and technology. It is perhaps best known for its pop music graduates and has particularly strong connections with the music industry. This course capitalises on being based in such a creative environment by giving you the chance to develop your skills in moving image, sound and cross-platform production work. You will also benefit from the close links with the BU Media School and the input from its lecturers.

It has excellent resources which will allow you to study in sophisticated environments, like those in the modern digital workplace; there are more than 500 workstations all equipped with the latest software for creative work, as well as a range of studio and recording spaces. The BRIT School is also an Apple Authorised Training Centre for Education and its trained staff deliver FinalCut Pro courses both internally and externally.

You will have the opportunity to develop professionally through real-world productions, learning how to liaise with clients and how to manage complex projects. Your technical and artistic skills will be developed by staff who have worked in the creative industries and understand something about success. In addition you'll have the chance to learn from a work-placement in a creative arts organisation.

By the end of the course you will be well prepared to begin a professional mediacareer, or you could progress to a further year of study at Bournemouth University in order to achieve a BA (Hons) Global Media Practice.
