Academic Entry Requirements

We accept a wide range of international qualifications. For information about how your qualifications relate to those in the UK, we suggest taking a look at the NARIC website (external website). In all cases, we consider students on the basis of their whole application and on evidence of their ability to benefit from the course and to complete it successfully.

Appropriate entry requirements include:

• International Foundation Year (see the Bournemouth University International Foundation Certificate (IFC))

• High school leaving examinations considered to be of an equivalent level to Advanced Level examinations in the UK

• International or European Baccalaureate

• Junior College Diploma

English Language Requirements

If English is not your first language, you will need to provide evidence that you can read, write, speak and understand English to a satisfactory level.

English language requirements, for this course are normally a minimum of one of the below:

• Successful completion of one of Bournemouth University's Preparatory English Programmes

• IELTS (Academic) 6.0

• TOEFL 213 (computer-based)

• TOEFL 550 (paper-based)

• TOEFL 80 (internet-based)

If you have alternative evidence of English language proficiency (e.g. you have a different English language qualification, you received the majority of your education through the medium of English, or you have a degree in English language/literature), please indicate this on your application form.
