Business Studies with Human Resource Management BA (Hons)

Course overview

A seminar group on Business Studies with Human Resource Management

You can still apply to BU (including through UCAS Extra). Please apply through UCAS as soon as possible; your application can only be assessed once we have received it from UCAS.

BA (Hons) Business Studies is our longest running course. By combining knowledge of psychology, social psychology and sociology, this course will enable you to operate as a human resource management practitioner.

Units of this course are closely linked to Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) standards, providing you with a broad grounding in the core generalist areas.

You will develop a conceptual understanding of the nature and character of modern human resource management. Specifically, the units develop a critical understanding of the main issues and themes in employment relations, learning and development, and people resourcing, exploring the relationship of these aspects to the wider HRM function, and their contribution to the organisation as a whole.
