Archaeology and Anthropology BSc (Hons) (Full-time, Part-time)

Course overview

Archaeology and anthropology will provide you with a broad training in biological and cultural aspects of human societies past and present and will give you a firm grounding in understanding the human condition. You will graduate with a wide ranging knowledge base, one that employers are increasingly looking for: the well educated graduate with the ability for lateral thinking and analogous problem solving.

This course will be delivered through a blend of science and humanities topics, underpinned by practical training in the field and laboratory. It offers a comprehensive range of topics, including archaeological and anthropological theory, prehistory, biological anthropology, human evolution, field archaeology, social anthropology, environmental archaeology and forensic aspects. It is taught by leading practitioners in their fields and is designed to provide broad-based education and understanding of human diversity and cultural richness.

The combination of archaeology and anthropology is uniquely placed to answer some of the big questions about humanity, and concepts and findings from archaeology and anthropology aid the interpretation, behaviour, and material culture of human communities.
