Applied Computing BSc (Hons) - (Top-up)

Course overview

You can still apply to BU (including through UCAS Extra). Please apply through UCAS as soon as possible; your application can only be assessed once we have received it from UCAS.

This course is delivered at Bridgwater College, a BU partner college.

All students will be required to complete a bridging course in September prior to the start of the top up programme.

After completing this programme you will understand how to develop software systems, and have a strong understanding of the advance of technology and market forces.

Computing professionals need to be able to work in a very broad range of application domains, and at the same time cope with the narrow and extremely high-level demands associated with very complex projects. During this programme you will be encouraged to recognise the tension between depth and breadth and develop skills to handle it. You will be challenged to apply skills gained in one application domain to another whilst at other times facing the challenge of handling narrow and specialist areas in considerable depth.

As a graduate of this course you will be fully equipped to contribute to any enterprise by designing, creating, enhancing and maintaining up to date systems. The skills that you will develop are those of the system designer, programmer and researcher.
