The Ethical Journalist (Short Course)

... Dan Hogan. Dan worked as a journalist for both local and national press in the UK. He is currently working on a PhD, exploring the philosophy of literature. It examines issues such as how truthful is fiction and non-fiction. Among the authors he has studied are Hunter S Thompson, Truman Capote, and Paul Theroux.

Of the course Dan says “This is an exciting course with the opportunity to debate today’s news. It aims to give you an insight into how some of the greatest minds have considered ethical problems. It should provide you with an ethical toolbox for the newsroom and life.”

Entry requirements:
This course is open to media professionals with an undergraduate degree and the required work experience in a relevant industry (normally a minimum of two years); and to non-graduates with significant and relevant work experience (normally ten years) who can demonstrate an ability to both complete and benefit from the course.
