Fundamentals of Corrosion and Preventative Measures (Short Course)

Course overview

Corrosion

In-service preventative techniques and measures against corrosion are costing billions. This 1 day course provides the knowledge and understanding of designing for maximum durability against corrosion.

This short course provides an opportunity to understand the fundamentals of corrosion, types of corrosion, failure mechanisms, advanced techniques of mapping corrosion and preventative techniques.

Participants will also obtain knowledge of various parameters which accelerate corrosion such as humidity ratios and harsh operating conditions, materials’ incipient defects and its relation to corrosion.

The course will enable participants to understand the mechanisms of failure due to various types of corrosion, identifying causes of corrosion and incorporating condition monitoring techniques for thresholds.

Delegates will learn about adjusting design parameters against corrosion to minimise preventive measures and enhance durability, resulting in significant savings.
