Management MSc

Course overview

Please note that this course is not recruiting for September 2012 or January 2013 entry.

The best candidates in an increasingly uncertain employment market are those with an up-to-date knowledge of international business, management skills and a thorough understanding of the financial and economic environments in which businesses operate. This one year course will give you the confidence and tools to fast-track your career.

On this course graduates from any academic discipline will explore management in a dynamic way – ensuring that the principles and techniques you acquire are as applicable in a marketing or service-led organisation as in an engineering or manufacturing organisation.

The internationally diverse culture at BU means you will study in an environment which brings together staff and students from all over the world, providing you with a global perspective on management in practice. The course encourages you to participate in contemporary management debate whilst gaining a broad understanding of the different business and management aspects and how they are inter-related.

The mix of teamwork and individual study will allow you to become an independent thinker whilst operating as part of a wider network within any type of organisation. Understanding all aspects of the core functions of a business – strategy, marketing, finance, and its people and networks - is essential to anyone embarking on their career in management.

This new course is intended for graduates and others, typically without a prior business or management academic background, but who are seeking a master's level course in this area.
