Academic staff

Dr Kathy Hodder

Even before gaining First Class Honours in Zoology at UCW, Aberystwyth, Kathy's endeavours had already earned her the Elizabeth Thomas prize for Zoology (1990), the R.Emrys Watkin prize for Marine Biology (1990) and the Sarah-Jane Cross Memorial Prize for Zoology in 1987. She believes it is her constant pursuit for information and knowledge that has fuelled her research "in applied ecology for conservation management at local scales in restoration ecology, and at larger scales in ecosystem services evaluations". Professor Richard Stillman

Richard joined BU from the Natural Environment Research Council’s Centre for Ecology and Hydrology. He completed his BSc and PhD at the University of East Anglia and is a Member of the British Ecological Society and Association for the Study of Animal Behaviour. Richard has a passion for understanding the natural world and he’s motivated by ensuring we all learn more about the threats to wildlife posed by habitat loss, climate change and disturbance from people. Professor Rudy Gozlan

Professor Rudy Gozlan is Head of Academic group for Conservation Ecology and Environmental Sciences. Originally from France, where he undertook his Bachelor's, Master's and MPhil study, Rudy completed his PhD at University of Hertfordshire in 1998 and then joined the Natural Environment Research Council's (NERC) Centre for Ecology and Hydrology (CEH). He joined BU in 2007 where his work in understanding the environmental threat posed to aquatic ecosystems is ground-breaking and receiving international attention in the media.
