Events Management MSc (Full-time, Part-time)

Course overview

Event Management is growing rapidly and is a major part of the experiential marketing concept. This course will provide you with the opportunity to develop skills essential for working in the events sector, using theories and processes of project and operational management.

You will learn about the planning, design, implementation and evaluation of a variety of events, as well as gaining a comprehensive overview of the discipline of marketing and the migration towards the integrated management of the marketing communications aspect of the marketing mix. All aspects of marketing communications are discussed as part of the course to enable you to prepare an integrated events marketing communications plan.

The make-up of the course is truly international, giving you a interesting opportunity to mix with a diverse range of nationalities, allowing you to increase your intercultural competence – vital preparation for working in a mixed-nationality workforce or dealing with a mixed-nationality clientele.

You will receive practical and specific training delivered by research-active and industry-experienced staff such as Dr Miguel Moital and Dr Julie Whitfield, including an optional work placement as well as organising and evaluating your own events as part of the course. You will also develop appropriate analytical and managerial competencies, which will enable you to respond to strategic issues, as well as developing your capacity to stimulate change in response to current and future developments.

The course will help you become knowledgeable about diversity, aware of cultural differences associated with managerial work and able to develop your aptitude for leadership within the Events Management sector.
